Easter Morning

A very late Easter this year, so the weather was quite nice.

“The Lodge” Water Park

The kids and I spent a weekend up in Brainerd at a water park. On the way up I told them that we were going to a farm. (After two nights at the park, they wondered if we were still going to a farm). I didn’t get many photos, but the kids had a wonderful time. That is, until the last night when Helena got swimmer’s ear and we had to leave quite early on the last morning. She spent a miserable night trying to get to sleep. As soon as the car ride began to go home she felt better, so the ride was much more bearable than the night and morning for the both of us.

I have to write that despite her obvious pain, she did really stick it out without completely breaking down. And the other two were quite concerned about her.

We did spend a good ten hours in the pool over the two days. Plus, we played some games in the game room, launched parachutes off the balcony near the entrance for an hour, and the kids were happy watching cable (Liam and I watched Buffalo beat Philadelphia in overtime in a playoff game)

First Behavior Referral

Guess who.

When picking her up from Fours Explore to take her to a water park for the weekend, I get greeted by Kriss would would like to talk to me. Nothing like rewarding a kid with a weekend trip for being bad.

Apparently, there was an incident earlier in the day with throwing of Legos in frustration, too.

Exciting Day

Helena has lice, so she has to stay home with Dalen. While at home, the cat scratches her face and hands. Picture here.

Liam asked me for money today for his school’s garage sale, which takes place in the hallway. I gave him three dollars that I found in Ada’s “pack-pack” that must have been left in there from the person who I bought it off from eBay that I had found the day before. He buys a bag of Matchbox cars. Later in the day, another kid wants to buy five of the cars that Liam has and offers him $5.00 for them. So Liam comes home with some cars, and $6.00. Well, and 25 cents. I’m not sure where that came from.

Now I’m in bed doing school work and Ada is sleeping with me. She squirms a little from dreaming and I hear her say (to a friend, I suppose) “Hmmmmm, I’m going to wait for my dad”.  Sweet!
